Franca Sozzani, Laura Biagiotti and Carla Fendi: the courage of going over the possible one

by Giovanna Fusco
As we often read, “death is nothing more than a new adventure”

and so all of us, a few months after the disappearance of Franca Sozzani, Laura Biagiotti and Carla Fendi,

hope this is what they are experiencing a new, rich experience of feelings and gratifications, such as those that have been alive. The loss of three great women who have made fashion history has left in every sadness and regret. All three have had a brilliant professional career: Sozzani began working for the magazine “Vogue Bambini” and until the end it was Director of “Vogue Italia”, a trendy magazine of innate quality and refinement, which has made every woman in love with her content. But not only: Franca Sozzani ha salso been the publisher of Condé Nast’s home for Italy and has always been very sensitive to issues such as racial discrimination and the promotion of equality, so to launch a special edition, The Black Issue.

Laura Biagiotti, another indisputable icon of Italian fashion, founded the fashion house in his name in 1972, and since then many successes and recognitions will be recognized so far to be defined by the New York Times “The Queen of Cashmere”, for the use of precious fiber in all its garments. It has thus became the emblem of a Roman entrepreneurial history, since it has always been linked to the eternal city.

Carla Fendi, on the other hand, joins the family farm at the end of the 1950s, alongside her sisters Paola, Anna, Franca and Alda. She’s the one who needs the internationalization of the Fendi brand and her conquest in foreign markets. In 2007, the Carla Fendi Foundation was created, with the aim of contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage of the past.

Three women of undisputed qualities surely, from the perspicacious dowry of understanding the female universe in all its faces, but even more of a strong character, the courage that characterizes true women, those who still believe in a better future and the ability to change the world. Yes, because women do not have to take on the role of Cinderella, exploited and uncompromised, given a subordinate role, but to point to oneself, on their creative abilities and exploratory curiosities.

Fraca Sozzani, Laura Biagiotti and Carla fendi, at a distance of months from own death, continues to inspire the world of fashion, representing a model for all those women who are able to go further and break fractured prejudices.

Hoping it’s not a goodbye.
See you soon
