The 24, 25 and 26 November, there has been in Rome the fifth edition of the Roma Web Fest, the first international festival of web series, fashion film and independent webnative product. Thanks to her art director Janet De Nardis, this festival is an innovative event that creates a link between the traditional cinema market and the world of web promoting young talents.
The event was organized in the University La Sapienza and in the beautiful MAXXI museum. Have been showed web series web series and fashion film but there have also been interesting and captivating workshop: the panel about “ The new profession of web” with the participation of webstar as the duo Actual and the director Luca Vecchi and the panel about the important topic of the Cyber-bullying with the participation of the actor Edoardo Mecca, the President of the Osservatorio Nazionale Adolescenza Maura Manca, the Director of the Centro Nazionale Anti-Cyberbullismo and the member of the Istituto Italiano per la Privacy Camilla Bistolfi and the Director of Skuola.net Daniele Grassucci.
The award ceremony for the fashion film was held on 25th November in the Auditorium room of the MAXXI museum. Among the many fashion film in competition, the Award for Best fashion film went to the deserved “Waiting Room” of Giacomo Boeri and Matteo Grimaldi created and produced by the creative studio Blink Fish. The video has been realized for the Milano Fashion Week of September 2016 for the Camera Nazionale della Moda.
Another fashion film which hasn’t received prizes but it deserves to be remembered is “Playmate” of Jam Patel: a weird story that tells the adventures of two mannequin-women with a fantastic picture that remembers the David LaChapelle style. The panel of judges it was composed by Anna Fendi, Claudio Gregori, Marina Di Guardo, the designer Stella Jean, Benedetta Mazza, Massimiliano Bruno, Sergio Valente, Nicoletta Fattibene, Luigi Parisi, Lavinia Farnese, Laura Bozzi and Sabrina Persechino. The award ceremony for web series and webnative product there has been the 26 November: the event has been introduced from the Director Janet De Nardis and carried out by the comic Saverio Raimondo.
There were many prize awarded: the web series “Il mistero sottile” was the one to receive more of it including the Award for the Best Italian web serie and the Award for the Best actor to the protagonist Giorgio Pasotti. The series “Hooked” with the direction of the extraordinary Luca Vecchi has got the Award for the Best editing and the Best zero episode. Therefore a great success the fifth edition of the Roma Web Fest, a project that deserves to be supported and in which is important to believe.
