A journey through the solar system surrounded by the darkness of the sky is what the designer Isabel Benenato wanted to express with her menswear Fall Winter 2018/19 collection.
Black, the protagonist of the collection is interrupted by black and white embroidery and touches of blue and red. The hand airbrush has been used to make blue details on black wool and linen garments while the garments are simple and linear and are articulated in a game of overlapping, creating volumes and alternating different lengths. The collection consists of work clothes up to the handmade tailored suit with avant-garde cuts and the return of great classics such as the double-breasted men’s jacket with pointed lapels. In addition to black, the color undoubtedly the protagonist of the collection, the latter revolves around three other main colors: white, gray and hazel, the first that recalls the white light of the moon and the last the color of Pluto. The grandeur of important coats in wool and hemp is alternated by the lightness of white, black and blue shirts. This lightness is emphasized by the softness of the trousers with a decidedly oversized fit and the play of transparencies. Knitwear, an important element of the collection, consists of high quality yarns in black, gray and white. These dark colors are the background to an intense red, reminiscent of Mars and blue that break the darkness of the garments with enveloping scarves and cloaks.
The cuts of the garments and the oversized overlapping volumes make these garments real works of art enriched by the main accessories of the collection: shoes. Strictly Made in Italy craftsmanship, waterproof boots, boots and derby style shoes are made of vegetable tanned leather that gives it a natural look.
