On the occasion of the twenty-third edition of miart and Milan Art Week, from 12 to 15 April 2018, the Fondazione Nicola Trussardi presents Sacrilege, one of the most important installations by the artist Jeremy Deller, one of the most unconventional and brilliant of the International art scene.
The giant inflatable will be brought into the sculpture park of CityLife, which reconstructs on a 1:1 scale the archaeological site of Stonehenge, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986, and which will become an attraction of 35 meters in diameter with which visitors will go to interact.
Deller, called “pied piper of popular culture” and fond of historical events, popular culture, folklore, loves to involve the public in his creations: his sculptures are indeed social experiences in which performances, videos and installations are used as places of exchange and aggregation.
Sacrilege, originally created for the International Festival of Visual Arts in Glasgow and then exhibited in London for the 2012 Olympics, has been brought to Madrid, Paris, Sydney and Hong Kong in recent years, becoming a global icon of contemporary art.
Through this collaboration the Trussardi Foundation brings contemporary art to Milan, enhancing forgotten places and attracting many tourists. www.fondazionenicolatrussardi.com
