Since 2013, every year, Petit Bateau did a partnership with the Hyères International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories to promote young talents that reinvent the style of the fashion house which boasts more than 120 years of history in fashion.
This year it was the turn of Lisi Herrebrugh and Rushemy Botter (already known in the fashion world as creative directors of Nina Ricci and winners of the Festival’s Première Vision Jury Grand Prix) to design the new super capsule Petit Bateau signed by Botter. The duo will give a breath of newness and joy to the brand after the young talents, Satu Maaranen, Kenta Matsushige, Annelie Schubert, Wataru Tominaga and Vanessa Schindler. The Dutch couple , has thus created a capsule collection that is (with a playful tone) a manifesto of protest against industrial fishing and a tribute of elegance of the Caribbean style, full of colors and joy.
The new collection finds perfect affinity with their men’s collection “Fish or Fight” where they express their concern for the ocean pollution and a particular attention to the wild nature, with waves, hand-painted flowers, irregular lines like the waves of the sea. The most representative prints on iconic shirts are two, that express the colorful identity of the collection with irregular and imperfect lines whose inspiration comes from the scans of plastic bags found in the streets or on the beaches. The shapes are simple with pure lines and oversized, unisex, without waste in cuts.
Starting from April 24th 2019 and therefore after the 34th annual Festival of Hyères that took place from 24th to 29th, the collection is available in selected stores and on Petit Bateau e-commerce sites.
