The Spring Summer 2020 collection by Vivienne Westwood entitled “No Man’s Land“, as always helps us to reflect.
Once again the brand offers a strong reflection on the destiny of man and the earth through a catwalk.
The image that arrives is that of a futuristic scenario, post apocalyptic, combined with bright colors, patterns of all kinds that mix with fabrics that rest on the body creating drapes. The line wants to highlight that what could cause a future catastrophe if we are not careful now is a corrupt financial system, enclosed in the word ROTS, precisely rotten financial system.
To highlight this future disaster, a set is chosen that shows us a desolate land, a premonition of a future that is not so far away; the proposed solution is first of all to act immediately, focusing above all on the earth and on the intelligence of the human being who is not only able to destroy but also to live in harmony.A rich collection, ranging from bright colors, red, yellow, blue, to more neutral ones, passing through fantasies of all kinds also united in the same garment. We see parade rouge, oversized baby carriers, paintings, tall vines, geometric cuts and asymmetrical cuts and motifs that recall nature.
“No man’s land” is a collection that allows you to reflect on what is happening in the world, under our now addicted gaze. Once again Vivienne Westwood tries to move a social conscience through strong and direct images.
