The typical ‘Twenties gentleman is the figure that inspired the brand Billionaire for the Fall Winter 2020 collection, referring specifically to Jay Gatsby, magnate and party-thrower, protagonist of Scott Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel.
A style icon revisited in a modern key is the role in which the brand sees the man, who always holds the iconic gold lion-head walking cane and who wears the coat on the shoulder in each of the exceptional evening outfits embellished by marble patterns, inserts with sequins and beads, handmade embroideries and prints in oriental style.
The colour palette chosen by Billionaire is certainly one of the characteristic elements of this collection: the gold, the blue and the green are the main colours, and those are also the three hues of the peacock, the protagonist in most of the garments presented.
It is in fact possible to see the exotic animal in different techniques and styles, as in the peacock print in gold thread of the cuffs, in the jackets with blue foliage and golden peacocks, and in the feathers that decorate the shirts, the suits and the silk pyjamas.
In the collection stand out also the special shaded python trenches, thick astrakhan and shearling coats and camel cashmere overcoats withdetachable mink shawl-collars: all of those pieces have a particular style, that highlight the ability of the brand to be distinguished for its originality.
The brand Billionaire, purchased in 2016 by Philipp Plein has thus succeeded in fully recreating the atmosphere of the ‘Twenties, making it totally part of the most modern era, distinguishing itself for the unparalleled attention to the details in ever more elegant and luxurious outfits.
