AdottaUnRagazzo sends 1000 love letters into space on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket
This year AdottaUnRagazzo” Adopt A Boy” will send 1000 love letters into space. An unprecedented event. Lovers will be able to write a letter that will arrive full of the magic of the Universe to the person they love.
Each letter will travel 100 million kilometers before reaching its recipient. The equivalent of a round trip from planet Earth to Venus, the letters will be boarded on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket next November. The launch will take place at Cape Canaveral, the US Army space base that allowed us to land on the moon on July 16, 1969. 
The letters will be placed in protective 500g packaging, or about 0.002% of the rocket’s payload. Each letter will be exposed to the space environment, which does not guarantee the state it will arrive in upon return. Letters may receive ionizing radiation from the sun, and the ink or paper may change color slightly.
Finally, it is after 6 months in orbit on the International Space Station (ISS) that the letters will land on Earth in the Atlantic Ocean, after having dropped the Dragon capsule, before reaching the recipient. Sending the letters adds no extra carbon costs and the rocket contributes to scientific research.
To date, 600 astronauts have traveled in space and soon 1000 lovers will declare their love to us. You can write a love letter on AdottaUnRagazzo.it until March 1st, without having to register on the platform. The 1000 most beautiful letters will then be chosen by a jury to be
sent into space. The selected letters will be handwritten by the author on a parchment paper which will be sent to him in a kit.
