For this new line we are not talking only and obviously about sustainability but also about art. Vivienne Westwood’s Autumn Winter 2021/22 collection is inspired  by the painting “Daphnis and Chloe” by the French painter Francois Boucher, a pastoral scene that the designer re-proposes within the line as a print for various pieces.

The unisex collection consists of various stylistic stories and capsules, identifiable also thanks to the colours and patterns. The silhouettes are balanced in classic pieces through redesigned and innovated British tailoring and archival style.Vivienne Westwood Fall Winter 2021/22 collectionAlso, in this line as in the previous ones the attention is not only focused on style but also on the environmental impact,  90% of the material used reduces the impact on the environment, in fact, there are fabrics in recycled denim, viscose from sources sustainable, organic silks and ecological printing methods. All this accompanied by wool materials such as tartan, herringbone and Prince of Wales.Vivienne Westwood Fall Winter 2021/22 collectionThe collection has various references to styles from different years, there are wedges with fishnets and high-necked dresses, which give an aggressive and captivating character to the line but also checks and pleats with hats that refer to the late 1700s, then we find even sweaters, trousers and bomber jackets that seem to recall the 90s hip hop fashion or jacket-trouser suits with shirt that lead us straight to the disco style.

Surely it is a varied, wide and rich collection that contains all the must-haves of the season, from the exaggerated platform and heel to the flared trousers, from the corset with the print of the painting to the oversized collar of the shirts.Vivienne Westwood Fall Winter 2021/22 collectionThe new collection by Vivienne Westwood is not only full of references to past styles and rich in present fashion and also full of colours, lines of different styles, mixed patterns and motifs, of dresses worn one on top of the other. She breaks the mold but it is perfectly wearable. She offers tempting alternatives of various kinds without losing that extravagant cut, as seen in the jackets split in two in two different colours.

Considerable prominence is also given to the garments that are printed with the painting, there are skirts, jackets, tops, sweaters and shirts. The combinations of different geometries from rhombuses to squares and stripes also acquire considerable space. A riot of shapes, colours and styles in full Westwoodian vision, which re-proposes the favourite garments of our past seasons in a modernized key.
