The Chanel Cruise 2021/22 collection was shown in the evocative location of Carrières de Lumières in Les Baux-de-Provence.
A perfect mix of white light and imperfect geometries framed the Chanel fashion show for the Chanel Cruise 2021/22 collection, enhancing the play of whites and blacks of the garments and the metallic light of the accessories. Virginie Viard let herself be enchanted by the atmosphere of the film “Testament of Orpheus” and of Jean Cocteau, very close to Gabrielle Chanel.
The collection is pervaded with punk references and Chanel elegance shows its most contemporary side, merging with a Sixties fashion. They stand out against the background of the total black outfit location with visible fishnet stockings and white ankle boots to recreate the chromatic dichotomy of the Chanel Cruise 2021/22 collection. The total white looks are enriched instead of prints, laces and applications.
Leather, fringes and knitwear express the punk style of the collection and even tweed and more bon ton items are transformed into a rebellious expression of themselves. Blazers and jackets are transformative: from lapels, to cuts, to lengths: everything is an evolution of an iconic garment that can also be unexpected and changeable.
Virginie Viard’s Chanel Cruise 2021/22 collection paves the way for miniskirts to be worn with fishnet stockings and ankle boots and owes a lot to accessories that emphasize the contemporary soul of the show.
From logoed piercings to hair accessories: the details are many and observing the show you can only look for them with a watchful eye, it’s worth it. On the line of the previous collection, the digital show was introduced by the teaser entrusted to the duo Inez and Vinoodh. The show was followed by a musical performance by the musician and ambassador Chanel Sébastien Tellier with the participation of Vanessa Paradis, Charlotte Casiraghi, Juliette Armanet and Angèle.
