World Oceans Day is celebrated on 8 June, the world day that the United Nations established to celebrate the fundamental role of the oceans in the life of all of us and to invite us to protect the oceans by encouraging the sustainable use of marine resources.
This day offers us the opportunity to raise global awareness of the benefits to humanity that come from the oceans and on which future generations depend. On this special occasion, the blue of the oceans joins the green of sustainability.
Laura Biagiotti, who has always been attentive to the ethics of ‘green’, launched the BIO Eyewear project precisely under the banner of ‘green-design’. The Laura Biagiotti Eyewear BIO collection operates in compliance with eco-sustainability through the use of an innovative material: M49, Mazzucchelli 1849’s Bioplastic.
It is a cellulose acetate, a polymer derived from cellulose – the most widespread organic compound in nature, extracted from the fibers of cotton and wood – characterized by a formulation that exclusively involves the use of substances obtained from renewable sources.
