The trench coat of course! And today we will talk about who made the trench an icon: Burberry. Burberry’s Spring Summer 2022 collection sees a study of the trench coat to reinvent it in a contemporary key by deconstructing and reconstructing it.
The presentation fashion show of Burberry’s Spring Summer 2022 collection is absolutely to be looked at with a keen eye to steal all the details that at a first admired glance may not be grasped. The new silhouettes play with shapes and volumes revealing a new character of Burberry garments. “I wanted to move through a series of immersive spaces, each of which is unique and unexpected, in terms of sound, shapes and overall experience.

The new designs owe the charm to the oversized sleeves, the hood that replaces the collar, the new leather details on the capes. For the Spring Summer 2022 collection, the trench coats are cut on the back to frame swimsuits with abstract prints and lend themselves to the play of overlaps.
The colors of the outerwear also change, also declining in the dark biscuit. Abstract prints and “Universal Passport” graphics also involve dresses and shirts, superimposed under sheer tops or printed mesh tops. The color block also intervenes to give an urban and trendy touch to sleeveless blazers and dresses. Seduction passes through the bold slits of fluid dresses.
The experimentation made on the trench coat is actually also reserved for blazers that see the sleeves fall and participate in the game of cuts by uncovering the back. Tight-fitting garments contrast these soft and comfortable shapes. They are made in stretch technical fabrics, some of which are cut-out. Protagonists in Burberry fashion shows are also bags that challenge shapes and models, creating new must-have pieces. The Rombi was presented for the Spring Summer 2022 collection, one of which is inspired by the iconic trench coat.
This is a new elliptical shoulder bag that evokes the collection’s abstract curved prints. The structured shape is sculpted to the body and features a lightly padded strap with an oversized closure in smooth brown and black leather and birch-colored coated canvas. At her side, the clutch bags in black leather with perforated details or with metal fringes and the Olympia bag that evolves into a softer shape in leather, with a circular strap.
