It is not necessary to be afraid of looking at the past, if it can become an opportunity to build the future: from this premise Salvatore Ferragamo moves to create the men’s / women’s collection for next Spring Summer 2019.
Ferragamo, a very important pillar of Made in Italy, creates a light, versatile collection, without ever giving up that elegance and a refinement that has always distinguished the brand. Paul Andrew and Guillaume Meilland give shape to a concept of luxury that evokes the functionality of workwear, in a tribute to the path of Salvatore Ferragamo who emigrated to America very poor to pursue his dream, and at the same time referring to the fashion of 2019.On the catwalk, women and men of different ethnicities, parading, highlighting comfortable and fashionable garments, where the style prefers thick asymmetric hems, the strongest and most disparate colors, from emerald to blue, passing through violet, up to red. Details of workwear are combined with linens and organs to create a play between substance and softness.
In the women’s collection, the skirts have a handkerchief, suede calfskin dresses, jacquard scarves and shirts, together with a nappa leather overalls. Do not miss outfits with knit edges and cotton voile poncho.
For the man, however, very fashionable are trench coats, raincoats to tighten at the waist or from a distance to fall freely; leather jeans and leather details, t-shirts and shirts in pomeline and gilet. The true rouge of the collection for sale: among the revisited archival classics, the iconic Vara, whose grosgrain ribbon has become metal. Among the bags, however, we find a new version of the Ferragamo Studio Bag with monogram All Gancini, and a versatile micro bag-wallet. The citments have double Gancini buckles in as many versions for men and women.
The glasses are an original accessory: a “cat” is thought for the woman with the frame completely covered in leather and metal. For men, however, a more linear model with an acetate frame and a metallic logo on the temples.
Salvatore Ferragamo, through a return to the past, looks for a new shape for the future, between style and femininity, versatility and lightness, in a skilful creative mix.
