Re-belles de jour with that neo-bourgeois charm that lives between the art-house films of the 1970s and the high floors of European capitals. Here they are, the younger sisters of Romy Schneider and Catherine Deneuve, new muses with a boho soul, a bit charmeuse, decidedly sophisticated who have inspired the Fall Winter 2024/25 collection by Alabama Muse.
A vibrant, gender-neutral and animal friendly fur wardrobe designed by Alice Gentilucci and full of that sparkling, flirty and vicious sensuality that sums up her idea of style.
Starting with the french touch of the suits with powder pink soft marmot mini-waistcoats with seal edging and macro pearls used as buttons, to be worn stylishly with bon ton coats, or in the ankle-length trench model with a tailored cut.
The seal coat, with its recognisable crests, returns in the grey juxtaposed in patchwork with baby lamb and mongolian in the two coats, long and short, and in the waistcoat, where it is the material contrast that defines the silhouette, making it lighter.
Space is given to tawny mink granny style whose masculine cut amplifies the character of the long coat with large lapels and returns in the micro jacket with a crew neck – also in a crop version – for the Jane Birkin of the third millennium who combine it with a miniskirt and hat.
A bourgeois touch characterises the pony pattern designed by the cerulean spots on rouge noir fur of the 70s coats with faux leather buttons, also with large lapels, which conceal the rice stitch sweaters – embellished with pom-poms, lozenges, stripes and ribbed edges – and the cardigan with zip and hood made of 95% recycled cashmere.
Old-fashioned elegance for the dramatic black and white jacquard in the very long kidassia fur that chooses the long coat as the rock jacket, the waistcoat as the mini, to uncover the body with sensuality, just like the jersey tank top doubled with the detachable marmot belt. And again pearl and sequin embroideries cast a glow. And not only in the evening.
Alabama Muse debuts with its first event during Milan Fashion Week 2024 and the February appointment is set for tea time at the historic Cucchi patisserie, in Corso Genova 1.
