Francesca Liberatore Runway show Fall Winter 2024/25 Milano Fashion Week
Francesca Liberatore returns to the calendar, reclaiming the usual Sunday closing slot
The designer, always finding a balance between artistic performance and fashion show, welcomes her audience to Milan’s classical music temple with another non-conformist runway show, this time in the Verdi Hallof the Milan Conservatoryto show her upcoming autumn-winter 2024-25 collection.
Alongside the Alpen Symphonie Orchestra, the Fondazione Società dei Concerti di Milano, and with the patronage of the Municipality of Milan in attendance she will seal the values of immersiveness, accessibility, unity, and strength of the combined arts, underlying the brand, which strongly builds on constant work and collective experience.
In the unusual combination of fashion, classical music, art and performance, models come to life among the audience. The orchestra, also displaying a Francesca Liberatore look, and other models as personifications of music itself combine, in a continuous shifting of aesthetics and symbologies.
Black blocks with falling silhouettes reflect colours that instead gather the instrumental sections, sugar paper, gray, camel, powder, peacock for sumptuous finely woven wool tank tops, silk shirts, and jacquard trousers, highlighting, through spontaneous rigour, how it is the human that gives life to the notes and not its role.
“This initiative is truly special: the orchestra conductors themselves become leading actors in the fashion show, music and fashion are just different languages of a single art,” says Enrica Ciccarelli Mormone, President of the Concert Society.
She continues: “I am convinced that this meeting between fashion and classical music is only the first of a long series, I am happy and proud that Francesca Liberatore, a contemporary and versatile designer, wanted to combine fashion and classical music for this fashion show.”
While Klaus Broz, artistic director of the Alpen Symphonie Orchester, adds: “Making art means first of all opening yourself up to the contamination of ideas, styles and personalities”. We really are excited to come into contact with such a fascinating world as that of fashion by becoming al simultaneously models and interpreters of a renewed Gesamtkunstwerk”.
Soft printed bomber jackets with leather inlays and deconstructed kilts break the anticipation in the room, discordant with the identity of the place but integrated into the love for culture.
“As musicians we are always open to discussion and artistic growth, every concert is important but this has a unique charm!” –Michele Gadioli, orchestra professor.
Fondazione La Societá dei Concerti makes the Swipe Your Stage!concept available to the fashion show, the project already active in the musical field, winner of the special mention “Digital Innovation in Arts” of Culture+Enterprise award.
For the first time applied to fashion, Swipe Your Stage! through the shots from four cameras sent to the tablets supplied to the public will allow you to admire the details of Francesca Liberatore’s dresses in a unique way.
Francesca Liberatore: “Mine are tests, unknown experiences that I want to live and make my audience live precisely because of that creativity that presupposes the new and therefore the unpredictability of the final result, which I always hope can add something to collective vision and emotion.”
