Atelier line ar Déco| peony capsule collection
From the peony, the maison’s iconic flower, comes an exclusive print on clothes and accessories
From the desire to create a graphic narrative of the maison’s iconic codes, creative director Antonio Riva makes the peony the star of a special moment in the new Spring Summer 2024 collection.
Considered in the Oriental tradition the ‘queen of all flowers’ for its elegance, it evolves into the central element of an exclusive print that comes to life on pure silk scarves with a contrasting profile and then declined in a mini collection.
Light and impalpable fabrics such as organza become the canvas on which the designer then takes up the print, painting springtime corollas in shades of pink and powder, wrapped with bows, to give life to the Peonia capsule.
Six garments proposed in nude and teal shades: two long dresses, two midi dresses and two shirts with important volumes, enriched with maxi bows and ruffles that give three-dimensionality.
The Antonio Riva Capsule Collection adds a romantic and contemporary touch to the broader AR Déco collection, presented in the Atelier of Corso Venezia in Milan and inspired by the classic forms of the artistic movement of the same name of the 1920s and 1930s.
The modernist tones of the collection, exalted by the dramatic colour combinations, are in fact diluted by the softness, transparencies and romanticism conferred by the iconic elements of the Maison, among which the Peonia capsule stands out. Silk, chiffon, tulle and lace in pastel tones are combined with bolder shades of blue, teal and black in long and midi dresses with plunging necklines and uncovered backs, in flounced skirts and elegant Mikado trousers.
Protagonists are the ruffles, ruffles, feathers and floral embroideries that have always illuminated Antonio Riva Milano’s magical tale.
