The high authorities of the Luigi Vanvitelli University and a representative of Campania goldsmiths hosted the “International Festival of Gold Embroidery and Jewelery” in Bukhara

From 21 to 25 May 2022 the city of Bukhara will host the “International Festival of gold embroidery and the art of jewelry“, with scientific and practical conferences, competitions, presentations, exhibitions, performances, theater and concert programs with the participation of artists famous, cultural and educational events.

The main purpose of the Festival is to introduce the experienced and talented artisans who work in the field of gold embroidery and jewelry and who make a significant contribution to the industry of this sector, to the conservation and restoration of unique works in progress. extinction and to encourage, with financial contributions, their activity to accelerate their development in the country and contribute to the dissemination of particular craft techniques, as well as to the training of young people for the creation of new jobs. In addition, to bring the jewels on an international scale with national brand, promote tourism through the knowledge of the cultural traditions of the Uzbek people and promote the Festival on a global scale.

During the Festival a wide range of models of jewelry and gold embroidery will be presented, household items, exhibitions of craftsmen and designers that reflect the history, way of life, traditions of the craft school of each region, folk festivals , folklore groups, theatrical performances, comedians, musical concerts, masterclasses of masters and hiking trails.

The designers and artisans who participate in the Festival will be awarded by the Organizing Committee with a diploma, a souvenir and a cash reward from 3,000 to 5,000 dollars.


The rector of the Luigi Vanvitelli University, Giovanni Nicoletti, together with other authorities of the Campanian University, are expected in May in the city of Bukhara to carry out the educational project with local universities, having recently entered into a collaboration agreement to promote the establishment of a university in the fascinating ancient city of Bukhara. The Italian Institute will support the Uzbek counterpart in the establishment, start-up and management of a new university with the shared goal of being able to train highly qualified graduates in the emerging Asian country according to the standards applied in the Vanvitelli University and to create at the same time a new institution capable of training and research at an international level.

The agreement between Uzbekistan and Vanvitelli also extends to the “Bukhara Medical Center” and the “Bukhara Engineering-technology Institute”, with which the exchange opportunities for students, teachers and researchers were defined.

The Unicampania delegation will also be a guest of the “International Festival of gold embroidery and the art of jewelry” together with representatives of the Goldsmith Center “Il Tarì” in Marcianise, a real “city of jewelery” in Campania, a large organization of which are part of 400 companies of the precious goldsmith culture and tradition. Operating for 25 years, the “Tarì” represents an undisputed point of reference in the national and international goldsmith world, so much so that it has engineered its know-how to offer high-level consultancy to emerging international consortia and realities with the same objectives. These cultural and collaborative exchanges are fundamental for the growth of Uzbekistan and pride for Italy because Bukhara is one of the oldest cities in the world, located in the heart of Asia, projected into the future and into new technologies, while maintaining its charm. in ancient traditions.
