The new Burberry campaign, portrayed by the duo Inez & Vinoodh against the beige Burberry background, celebrates the exuberance and classic codes of the British house and features fashion icons such as Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid and Kendall alongside Benjii Arvay, He Cong, Freja Beha Erichsen, Nozomu Ito, Reece Nelson, Tosin Olajire, Rianne van Rompaey and Mona Tougaard.
“I worked extensively to define the brand’s new identity and visual language. This campaign, somehow, represents the beginning and I wanted to celebrate it through the men and women who represent Burberry – some of whom accompanied me during the my career, others started this journey in Burberry with me. All together, they capture the sense of sophistication and attitude that reside in the soul of the brand. “This is precisely the starting point of Riccardo Tisci‘s vision for the new Burberry Spring Summer 2020 campaign, which contains important points of the season, including English tailoring, evening dresses and trench coats, and in which two famous bags are also inserted Burberry: The TB Bag and Lola, inspired by the founder of the house Thomas Burberry, as well as the Pocket Bag.
For women, the iconic trench coat is revisited in a modern and innovative key, reconstructed with silk brushes, silhouettes down to the ground, sleeves with a sculpted shape, and piercings with crystal rings.
But it does not end there: the elegance of the tailoring lines is transformed by flared blazers, structured dresses with pleated skirts and trousers with double pleats, while the hems are embellished with fringes and decorative chains. The evening garments, on the other hand, express a balance between simplicity and elegance and are enriched with mesh fabrics with crystals and ostrich feathers applied by hand.Finally, for men, the classic English-cut suit is reinterpreted and reinvented with a pinstripe motif made with crystals and delicate shades. The trench coat and the car coat are transformed with innovative textures. The shorts, a real must of the new leisure look, are enriched with a touch of sartorial elegance, while the parkas, hoodies and shirts inspired by the world of rugby have new details with zips and ribbed panels.
A new style therefore conceived for the campaign in which the classic meets the eccentric through a winning and super British combination, which certainly marks a new beginning by paying tribute to men and women who represent the brand and who have accompanied Tisci in his professional career.
