Never missing an appointment with the city of New York, Custo Barcelona presented its Spring Summer 2022 collection on the NYFW fashion designers of Latin America (FDLA) platform. An audiovisual piece that accompanies his live show for Spring Summer 2022.
With the motto I trust Me, Custo Barcelona wants to address those who trust themselves and project conviction. An outward-oriented journey to show a confidence that comes from within.
The proposal focuses on high quality materials, in their pure state or fused with others but always at low intensity. A new focus on clean concepts, rounded shapes, vibrant colors and essential details, combined to create a whole.
Designer Custo Dalmau reveals his masterful mastery in mixing colors, using patterns and combining materials, which are his most recognizable hallmarks. The dresses, both micro and maxi, are essential with geometric cutouts and imaginative folds while every superficial element has been eliminated.
Pants also have their own unique existence. With a masculine and oversized cut, they are made of natural fabric such as cotton twill or silk, in white or in neutral tones or in lace, declined in pure colors such as fuchsia, green or blue.
The color palette, always key in Custo’s language, includes delicate colors often contrasted with more unusual shades: petal pink or gray contrasted with a glossy laminated finish, white with iridescent details mixed with glossy white, opal yellow with opal white, emerald green mixed with fuchsia dahlia or mimosa yellow mixed with pink topaz.
Special focus on swimwear featuring lurex-impregnated jacquard micro bikinis as well as leotard-inspired swimwear for a renewed femininity with a sporty twist.
The new Custo Barcelona Spring Summer 2022 collection strongly bets on the purest form of the Custo style, and on its presentation at NYFW which has been the constant stage of the evolution of the brand over the years. A return to the origins and a search for inner strength, these are the values that Custo Dalmau wants to convey both for the new season and for this very special historical moment.
