Actress Elle Fanning wore a corseted Vivienne Westwood dress in ivory chantilly lace, paired with a black cropped jacket.
On the head, a floral crown, made by Stephen Jones Millinery with a black band of sinamay fabric and grosgrain bows on which fresh daisies rested.

Following the theme of the Met Gala 2023, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”, Elle Fanning’s gown was inspired by the wedding dresses of the past that famously concluded Karl Lagerfeld’s shows, as well as the Vivienne Westwood shows in Paris.

The dress was hand-sewn in the Vivienne Westwood atelier in London, following a no-waste principle. The corset is, in fact, made from a pre-existing archive garment combined with a trapeze skirt.
The shrug is in black satin crepe, the emblematic colour of the Chanel maison, also handmade, using historical and experimental cutting techniques typical of Vivienne Westwood.
Finneas wore a teal shirt and a brown chintz cotton trench coat from the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Autumn Winter 2023/24 collection. The singer completed the look with a pair of blue and beige oxford-style shoes from the same label. The Finneas singer also wears Cartier jewellery.
