Monte-Carlo Fashion Week (MCFW), the official fashion event of the Principality of Monaco, which took place from 17 to 21 May, closed with a great success.


The event is organised by the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode (CMM), in partnership with the Monegasque Government and the Mairie de Monaco, under the High Patronage of Her Serene Highness Princess Charlène of Monaco.

Year after year, Monte-Carlo Fashion Week is gaining in prestige, also thanks to its membership of the international fashion week calendar. The event is increasingly awaited by buyers and insiders worldwide, given the participation of leading names in the fashion arena and celebrities who frequent the Principality.

This year, the event took place with 3 days of fashion shows and 3 days of conferences and Fashion Hub, in 3 iconic locations in the Principality of Monaco: the Automobile Collection of HSH the Prince of Monaco, the Yacht Club of Monaco and the Grande Verrière of the Grimaldi Forum. Some 30 international brands presented their collections and some 20 speakers attended the conferences.


In the magnificent setting of the Automobile Collection of HRH the Prince of Monaco, the fashion shows took place. Simone Guidarelli, creative director and celebrity stylist, opened the shows with his exclusive collection.

This was followed by the Monegasque brand Beach & Cashmere Monaco by Federica Nardoni Spinetta, accompanied by shoes by Von Lowenstein; the Monegasque brand Marlea Monte-Carlo the eco-sustainable luxury of Fimte Monte-Carlo; the sophisticated glamour of Laura Spreti; the young British brand Velvet Pink Banana; the creator Runa Ray who walked the runway for the Foundation of Prince Albert II of Monaco; the Japanese Mami Okano; the Optical art of the Brazilian artist Marcos Marin x Diana Mara; the Monegasque brand Crisoni.

Closing the shows at the H.S.H. the Prince of Monaco Automobile Collection was Collini Milano, with a glamorous and luxury collection representing the sophisticated image of the Principality of Monaco.

Once again, it was sustainability that was the focus of Monte-Carlo Fashion Week and its importance was underlined by the conferences, which took place at the Yacht Club de Monaco, under the impetus of some twenty speakers of the calibre of Benoît-Louis Vuitton, Corporate Director of Louis Vuitton; Carlo D’Amario, CEO of Vivienne Westwood; Annabelle Jaeger-Seydoux, Director of Energy Transition of the Principality of Monaco; Matteo Ward, CEO and co-founder of WRÅD, who gave us a powerful moment with the screening of his documentary JUNK showing the impact of fashion on the environment.


In the exclusive setting of the Monaco Yacht Club, the Fashion Hub was also held with pop-ups by international brands: Thalie Paris, Flavia Fleming, Nicolò Tonetto, Ika Butoni, Ushak, FITME Monte-Carlo, Hemcael, Beach & Cashmere Monaco, Inessa Creations, Leslie Monte-Carlo, Von Lowenstein.

Genny’s magnificent fashion show closed the runways under the Grande Verrière of the Grimaldi Forum. Sara Cavazza Facchini creative director of the Italian brand Genny, with her chic and unmistakable style presented a collection full of colour, elegance and purity representing timeless fashion.

One of the most eagerly awaited moments of the event was the Fashion Awards Ceremony that took place on Saturday evening under the Grande Verrière of the Grimaldi Forum, where guests were able to admire the exceptional temporary exhibition “Cavalli World” featuring the most iconic outfits created by creative director Fausto Puglisi for the Roberto Cavalli maison, such as the famous dress created for Zendaya.


Under the watchful eyes of various celebrities and the American actress Kelly Rutherford, the eagerly awaited MCFW Fashion Awards 2023 Ceremony was held, with the awards going to fashion personalities who have distinguished themselves for their ethical and innovative vision: Sara Cavazza Facchini, Creative Director of the maison Genny received the Made-in-Italy Award; Matteo Ward received the Positive Change Award; Fausto Puglisi for the maison Roberto Cavalli received the Legacy Award; Carlo d’Amario, CEO of Vivienne Westwood received the Ethical Business Award; Soya Chartier received the Made-in-Monaco Award; Beste received the Ethical Circularity Award and Fashion Channel received the Visionary Award.
