Rita Ora’s custom-made dress was co-designed by Primark and Rita Ora. Inspired by Rita Ora’s personal style and her creative vision of simplicity, silhouette and the fusion of fabric with her body. The end result is a dress that feels like a second skin, timeless, sophisticated and simple. The stunning maxi dress is floor-length with a square neckline, a super neckline at the back along with a small black train.

Commenting on the design process, Rita Ora said: “Once Primark and I started working together, I started dreaming up ideas of how we could bring Primark to a place I’ve become quite familiar with in my career: the red carpet. And what better place to do it than on the iconic carpet of The Fashion Awards! With this dress, I wanted to create something that had a really timeless feel and carried a lot of power. This design means a lot to me, not only because it’s named after me, but because all proceeds from the dress will support Breast Cancer Now, a cause that helps people, like my mother, who have fought so bravely and survived their own battles with breast cancer.”

Primark’s head of purchasing, Alejandro Fernandez De Cea, added:
“Being part of this project to design a dress for a red carpet moment was very exciting and a great responsibility in trying to combine Rita’s creative, personal and avant-garde vision while also combining Primark’s signature versatility and accessibility. We created something that is striking, wearable and comfortable.”

Rachael Franklin, Director of Fundraising, Communications and Engagement at Breast
Cancer Now, said: “We are thrilled that Breast Cancer Now will receive 100% of the funding from this Rita Ora dress for The Fashion Awards with Primark. After launching our post-op range with Primark earlier this year, it’s really special to end the year with this contribution, and to see Rita modelling it beautifully on the red carpet!

“This range is particularly personal as we know that Rita was affected by breast cancer through her mother’s diagnosis. A woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 10 minutes in the UK, and all money raised through the sale of this dress will go towards research and support for all those affected by the disease.”

In the UK, customers can purchase the limited edition pieces online via Click + Collect before picking them up in one of the company’s 57 Click + Collect shops in Greater London, North West England, North Wales and parts of Yorkshire from Tuesday 5 December.

The Fashion Awards is one of the most anticipated moments in the global fashion calendar, celebrating fashion at the intersection of culture and is a global entertainment platform for brands, creatives, designers, artists and influencers to come together to celebrate the industry. The Awards are a fundraiser for the British Fashion Council (BFC) Foundation and focus on celebrating excellence in the fashion industry and supporting future creative talent.

The bespoke dress is available to purchase for €50.00, available in sizes XS-XL with a limited run of 500 units. Primark will donate all proceeds from sales of the dress to the cancer charity Breast Cancer Now, a Primark partner committed to supporting and empowering women, in whatever life brings. All sales of the dress will also go to Breast Cancer Now.
