Fratelli Rossetti presents “Shoe talks” A very Italian conversation about iconic shoe gestures
On the occasion of Milan Fashion Week, Fratelli Rossetti celebrates its “little big revolutions” in the world of fashion in a fresh and witty way.
The presentation of the new collection takes inspiration from the lively, typically Italian gestures, as described by Bruno Munari in “The Dictionary of Italian Gestures” in which the most iconic of Neapolitan culture stand out.
A distinctive and characteristic element of our country that the brand has decided to transfer onto the feet through the elaboration of eight stories that describe its unspoken language – the kiss, the walk, the dance, the wait, the gentleman, the goodbye, the indecision and the thought.
In the wake of the recent 70th anniversary milestone, “Shoe talks” was born as a hymn to Made in Italy, a value rooted in the brand’s DNA and which is also reflected in the choice of location that will host the event: the prestigious boutique in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, in the heart of Milan.
For the Fall Winter 2024/25 collection, the most famous gestures are uniquely represented by the icons that have marked Fratelli Rossetti’s history.
The unmistakable moccasin with tassels, Brera, interprets the pose of the kiss, an emblematic moment of the brand’s photographic campaigns shot by the famous photographer Giovanni Gastel.
For the kiss, Brera comes in the Tartan version, available for both him and her, characterised by a laser processing that gives the shoe a very special “checked” effect. The final design, inspired by the typical Scottish fabric, is created with a mix of perforations combined with different stitching lines.
For the dance pose Brera is also dressed in a new seasonal embroidery, handmade on a loom. The parts embroidered with multicoloured yarns and the application of patch designs representing the symbols of the brand’s icons – the tassels for the Brera moccasin, the stirrup for the Magenta boot and the flower for the Hobo slipper – embellish the upper with a special three-dimensional effect.
The Magenta boot, the brand’s second icon par excellence, skilfully interprets the gestures of walking and saying goodbye. For this season, the iconic metal stirrup is revisited in an elegant key and also applied to hyper-feminine boots, giving splendour to models more in line with current trends.
The Hobo and Dandy models, distinctive of the Mannish style that has made Fratelli Rossetti famous and here the protagonists of the more androgynous gestures of indecision and waiting, cannot be missed.
Closing the story on gestures, the thought is embodied by one of the season’s novelties: the Mary Jane with a double strap. A model that symbolises femininity and winks at all women who seek timeless, everyday elegance.
“Shoe Talks” renews the brand’s mission to combine a long tradition of craftsmanship with intense research into innovation, establishing Fratelli Rossetti as a point of reference for those seeking excellence in Italian fashion.
