The Oriental Fashion Show presented its Spring Summer 2023 collections at Milano Moda Donna in the splendid setting of Palazzo Turati.
Faithful to Milan Fashion Week, the Oriental Fashion Show brought to Italy two Moroccan Maisons “Maison Calamain and La Maison Le monde de Nün”, which presented three brand new collections inspired by Moroccan and Oriental cultural heritage.
Maison Calamain showcased two different collections: one of kaftans and one of hand-embroidered tailored jackets.
In fact, since 2010, Maison Calamain has specialised in fine embroideries, handmade by experienced craftsmen, who, thanks to their know-how, collaborate with the most important Western haute couture brands.
In 2020, Maison Calamain launched its first ready-to-wear line employing over 20 artisans who skilfully preserve all the richness of Moroccan heritage in their creations.
Maison “Le monde de Nün “, is a Moorish-inspired fashion house that springs from the creative mind of the talented designer Nadia Ksiyer, and from a skilful mix of Moroccan and Andalusian culture. Through her collection of dresses, long skirts and kaftans, the designer decided to bring creations to the catwalk that reflect the authenticity and simplicity of the work of Tangier weavers. “I wish to pay homage to a perfectly imperfect ancestral know-how and to the artisans who work with passion and respect for traditions”
The Nün brand (private label) was presented to the general public for the first time at the Maroc Fashion Week in Marrakech in June 2022. Encouraged by its great success, Nadia Ksiyer presented her creations in Italy for the first time.
The ‘Silk Road and Al Andalus’ association, founded by Hind Joudar in 2004, has for 18 years organised the Oriental Fashion Show, the first fashion event dedicated to Oriental artistic creations.
The vocation of Oriental Fashion Show has a twofold objective: to introduce, beyond its borders, designers of oriental inspiration and to highlight the richness and uniqueness of the clothing and cultural heritage of the Orient.
Through these shows, the Orient crosses the borders of the Arab world and crosses the continents, from Asia to North Africa, echoing the Silk Road.
