Advanced technologies, such as hot moulding, and irregular shapes reminiscent of the bond between man and nature dominate the Iceberg collection.
During the Mido fair, which takes place between 3 and 5 February 2024, Oscar Mamooi, an eyewear brand with a major impact in the world of eyewear, born in Milan in 2020 from a collaboration between the Neapolitan-born designer of the same name and Prophilo, a leading manufacturer of sunglasses and optical models, will present four new models that will contribute to enriching the Iceland family.
Starting from nature as a source of inspiration, advanced technologies such as hot moulding are used to give life to the collection. Representative of the irregular shapes that recall the bond between man and nature, asymmetrical frames that enhance the unpredictability of icebergs but smooth as ice. Impressive, jagged icebergs set into the surface of the frame by icy water.
The iconic models of 2024 will be two: Constellation and Vespertine, joining two other proposals, Desired and Ovule. The square design will be characterised by an interplay of curves and sharp angles that give a dynamic effect. the interconnected geometric shapes are enriched by shiny surfaces, creating an interplay of volumes and details that evoke futuristic concepts of movement and speed.
The balance between these skilfully calibrated elements generates a front with a sophisticated style where the craftsmanship of the materials and the complexity of the shapes create a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality.
Constellation:
Sophisticated and bold, it features a linear inner frame surrounded by an impressive, finely sculpted glacial-looking armour. The visual effect it generates is impressive; a striking choice for those seeking a unique and exclusive design.
Ovule:
The circular frame, a symbol of perfection and immutability, boldly clashes with geometrically sculpted joints and lines. This interruption creates a front that elegantly harmonises architectural elements and functionality, masterfully balancing artistry and ergonomics.
A wearable art object that marries the beauty of architecture with comfort in everyday use.
Desired:
This square frame features large volumes and refined corner finishes, highlighting masterfully sculpted architectural details on the outer corners of the brow. These details add depth and structure to an imposing façade.

Vespertine:
Its inspiration comes from nature, in particular from the creative process of wind shaping ice into abstract and evocative shapes, radiating the organic and natural form of this frame in an extraordinary way.
