The Hui Fall Winter 2024/25 collection designed by Hui Zhou Zhao, the lady of Chinese fashion who loves Italy and has been showing in Milan for years, is played out between these opposites.

The starting point is always the revisitation of China’s ethnic and cultural traditions, but this time it comes straight to the cosmopolitan and sophisticated image of Chinese women who today attend western universities, do international business, travel and know the world as well as new technologies.

Hence the idea of the Panda bear redesigned by artificial intelligence and made into patches on camel jumpers as a symbol of epochal change


. On the other hand, the complex women’s hairstyle immortalised on the invitation and in the projections on the 3D Immersion set-up of the fashion show, refers to the traditional headgear of the Hmong women, as the Long Horn tribe of the Miao people is called in the East.

Made of hair that has been handed down and preserved for generations to be mounted on long wooden frames tied to the head with black and white bandages, these special hats are a symbol of the ancient Miao culture in which clothes are called ‘a history book to wear’.

The classic red and blue stripes of tribal costumes take on super chic tones of ebony, camel and black in the jacquard part of the acid green sequin skirt. Made of ultralight PVC, sequins also become a refined black coat, an elegant passepartout bomber jacket, the unusual patch decoration of a long wool crepe skirt and the refined decor of a denim blouse.


There is no shortage of mini skirts made in traditional colours and with the five sections that in Miao costumes represent the five great rivers crossed by this nomadic people from the Guizhou province. Then there are the wide cashmere dressing gown coats with silk linings decorated with precious ancestral motifs and combined with iridescent sequins with knitted finishes.

Textured jacquards with both floral and geometric designs meet colour block printed chiffon, while mohair sweaters with generous volumes are layered over scuba-effect jersey. Even the accessories launch the East meets West message in a new way, whereby fragile mules covered in sequins alternate with the boots of the big cold weather and scarves are banded with floral ramage embroidered in 3D thread.
