Max Mara and the Ulisse female alter-ego for Spring Summer 2019

by Cristina Rizza

Max Mara gets The Odyssey on the catwalk for Spring Summer 2019.

Forget about the journeys of Ulysses and the battles, the one that inspired the brand is a recent reinterpretation of the work, made by Emily Wilson, an all-female vision.

A heroine ready to do anything to conquer what she wants: this is the temperament of the Max Mara woman for next summer, with a palette of neutral colors ranging from beige, white and nude, black and gray, to flow into shades of the earth, olive, yellow and blue browns.

“The uniform” of this brave woman is the trench, made hyper-feminine by a belt at the waist and by ruffles along the sleeves in a more casual version in waxed or chic taffeta fabric.
The silhouette is linear and well defined, embellished with the waves of the ruffles, repeated on sweaters and on the leather jacket or the draping of the pencil skirt. An horsewoman must be able to move at will, but at the same time she has to carry everything she needs to face the day: this is why Atalanta cross body bag is the perfect adventure companion.
A sunny tone is given by polka dots on trenches and dresses, with blue / hazel color contrasts, beige / brown and olive / black, as well as total yellow suits, formal in the structure but eclectic for color.
A perfect mix between the enchantress Circe and the romantic Penelope gives life to the woman of Max Mara for next summer.
