BOY London meets Playboy for a creative and cutting-edge collaboration for the Spring Summer 2023 season
BOY London has announced a collaboration with the iconic Playboy brand. BOY London, a street style fashion brand worn by celebrities such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Andy Warhol, has never shied away from challenges, and this new collaboration further demonstrates the BOY team’s determination to make bold choices.
“The collaboration with Playboy represents an opportunity to explore new frontiers by expressing our vision and reinventing messages of freedom and rebellion with a look that can excite and set the wearer apart from the crowd.
The fashion world is crowded, and we pride ourselves on being constantly on the cutting edge that everyone wants to wear. Or at least, everyone who wants to be bold,” says a BOY London spokesperson.
It seems BOY London is more rebellious than ever, and the new Playboy and BOY collaboration is sure to make waves. The collection is inspired by Studio 54 and aims to fuse BOY’s historic style, from punk to new romance, with a retro and positive mood typical of the 1970s.
With this first collaboration, BOY’s influence is evident. The materials are rougher and we find leather, vinyl, faded denim, metallic details, pins, tailored inserts and mesh fabrics, and of course the iconic Playboy bunny that is included and represented in the collection in a BOY London style reinterpretation.
Again in pure BOY style, there are monochromatic, bold and oversized themes and, as always, BOY’s message rings truer than ever: BOY London garments are for everyone, with no difference in gender or sexual identity. And it is in this space of freedom that the brands’ two ideologies meet.
Both Playboy and BOY are iconic brands with strong, identifying graphic logos, both with a strong heritage dating back to the 1970s. Playboy’s phrases “Everyone is Welcome” and “This Club is for Everyone” fully embody BOY London’s value of inclusion.
The must-have garments in the Spring Summer 2023 collection are those where the cultures of both brands meet conceptually, offering new and interesting interpretations with a completely original twist: quilted jackets, the inclusion of the Playboy bunny laser-printed on denim, bunny heads embossed on the backs of bikers, and small BOY and Playboy logos hidden in the pinstripes of suits.
The collection is obviously unisex and designed to look good on everyone! There will undoubtedly be a long line of celebrities looking forward to making these unique pieces their own.
