“Especially for sex”, the new Spring Summer 2019 collection by Vivienne Westwood which actually forms its basis on the brand’s past archives. Vivienne Westwood appeals to the must-haves Malcom McLaren and she had created in the 1970s for their boutique SEX , at 430 Kings Road, London, now known as Worlds End.
The iconic models inspired by the new shoes collection are aimed at the recreation of a punk and transgressive style.
In the new line the Siouxie sandal can be found, the punk par excellence, which gains its fame as worn by Siouxie Sioux and Jordan, Vivienne’s assistant, as well as by the other Bromley Contingent girls.Created between 1974-76, famous because combined with rubber clothes, bondage belts and t-shirts with zips, holes, slogans or hard graphics. A sandal with a strong character, with double straps, metal toes and loads of leather , available in both black and burgundy.
Another historical model the brand has decided to re-propose is “the sex Court”, a revisitation of a leather neckline with metal toes on the heel. Kate Moss called this shoe the best of all time, also available in both burgundy and black.
The entire new collection is available in the Vivienne Westwood store in Milan.
Vintage and with a lot of character, the shoes proposed by the brand have already influenced more generations, with the aim of influencing the new ones, leaving a punk mark. Also for the 2019 Spring Summer clothing collection, Vivienne Westwood brings to the spotlight a sartorial technique she invented in 1981 for the Pirate collection: Alcholic Tailoring.
The Alcholic technique reuses the principles of the classic Saville Row sartorial technique and distorts them. Each garment is slightly unbalanced or notched, right where the garments are usually structured; this technique points to the enhancement of the female body.
The new line features a capsule collection available in black or blue monochromatic variants or in black and white tartan linen fabric.
A dynamic collection that is sensitive to the body and to the natural forms of women, which brings back the past knowledge by re-proposing them in a modern and fashionable way.
