The garment as an act of creation and destruction, the idea and inspiration that lose their original meaning when the garment is worn. Francesca Liberatore investigates, in the Fall Winter 2022/23 collection, the art of clothing from a different and unusual point of view.
Creating and killing: the two poles that meet and mirror each other in a challenging and confident Fall Winter 2022/23 collection that with straight cuts and graphic elements introduces a more sensual and decisive aesthetic of the crime scene. The trench coat, the coats, the belts at the waist: all to create a silhouette that plays with intertwining, asymmetries and materials.
The true sense of the story is told in an elegant way by cuts, shapes and volumes but it is the back of the garments that embrace the mystery. A question mark stands out on the fabrics and suddenly makes the style even more contemporary and at times urban.
The masks, worn by the models on the back of the garment, mix the cards immersing the viewer in a universe that Francesca Liberatore wanted to interpret as ambiguous but very real.
Masks and faces coexist reinforcing the dichotomy that pervades the entire Fall Winter 2022/23 collection. Boots are also influenced by dividing them between two colors.
Everything speaks of ambivalence, of possibility, of culprits and victims and it is sensational to see how the dress manages to convey such complex messages in the beauty of the careful workmanship.
